Donald Trump wins Republican Presidential Nomination

Night two of the GOP convention is kicking off with the formal end to the GOP primary, as delegates nominate Trump to be the party’s official nominee. But he says it won’t help because state law and party rules bind all delegates to the state primary victor. They originally requested 12 votes go to Ted Cruz, 11 to Trump and 5 to Rubio, but the RNC recorded all 28 votes to Trump. Cruz has not yet released his delegates.

“We deserve to be heard, this is the people’s convention”, said Diana Shores, a delegate from Virginia, while pro-Trump delegates tried to drown out the rebels with shouts of “shame! shame!”

The chairman of the Republican National Committee, Reince Priebus, said that allocation was in accordance with state party rules and it was upheld. Just before the billionaire businessman reached the magic delegate number, Trump’s children arrived on the convention floor with the NY delegation to watch the roll call.

At the same time, forces that oppose his nomination have been working delegates Tuesday to organize a protest to voice their displeasure with Trump and the process that brought him to this moment. Two passages from her address – each 30 words or longer – matched a 2008 Democratic convention address by Michelle Obama almost word-for-word.

Former state Rep. Peggy Wilson, a Trump delegate from Wrangell, said Trump isn’t trying to become president for fame or glory because he’s already rich and famous.

Hillary Clinton said Tuesday the first day of the Republican National Convention was “surreal” and reminded her of the classic fantasy film The Wizard of Oz.

Trump appeared on stage to introduce his 46-year-old wife Melania, right, for her first major speech.

Jarret Hill who broke the scoop of Melania’s Trump speech which was partially stolen from Michelle Obama. The billionaire won a thumping victory in a series of statewide party elections, garnering more than 13 million votes. “Because we want our children in this nation to know that the only limit to your achievements is the strength of your dreams and your willingness to work for them“.

Two passages from her speech were almost identical to ones in the speech that Michelle Obama gave at the 2008 Democratic National Convention, triggering allegations of plagiarism. Under this definition, many have argued that Melania Trump was clearly at fault. “Or as Iggy Azalea calls it, her new hit”. The passages in question focused on lessons that Trump’s wife says she learned from her parents and the relevance of their lessons in her experience as a mother. We share values. We are Americans. Nancy Reagan, of course, was one. “I think private citizens can do a great deal”, he said. “I saw that look a little over a year ago when he was told he couldn’t possible succeed in politics”.

Mrs. Obama, in her 2008 speech, said she was raised to believe that “you work hard for what you want in life, that your word is your bond, that you do what you say you’re going to do, that you treat people with dignity and respect“.
