Weather Forecast: Mainly Sunny, Clear Skies to Prevail

Hazy, hot and humid conditions are expected to arrive in the midstate this weekend, according to forecasters with AccuWeather and the National Weather Service at State College.

Sunshine is predicted for Thursday, with a high near 89. North northeast winds up to 9 miles per hour are possible.

Winds are northwesterly to westerly and light to moderate.

Partly cloudy skies will move into the area Thursday night as temperatures fall to a low of about 65.

A mix of sun and clouds is in the forecast for your Monday with a 30 per cent chance of showers and a risk of a thunderstorm. Mostly clear skies will follow into tonight, with a low around 58.

The Wyoming Valley is in store for a generally quiet forecast, but some storms are possible on Friday.

Wednesday’s high in Madison was 87 at 2:16 p.m., 5 degrees above the normal high and 10 degrees below the record high of 97 for July 19, set in 1964. The 2016 total stayed at 16.15 inches, 2.86 inches below normal.
