At a GOP Convention breakfast this morning, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich told the New York delegation that winning in November depends on overcoming blue votes in New York City. No thanks, they said en mass in May.

“You must have a strong economy at home, in order to have a strong leadership, military and diplomatic influence overseas”.
Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump has received flak from across the world for his far-right stand.
Donald Trump is now the party’s nominee for president. “They have to understand that if they come at us, we’re going to come at them, twice as hard”.
Gingrich is one of the most vocal supporters of Trump, and has often defended him within the Republican Party.
Melania Trump – wife of the GOP presidential nominee, Donald Trump – received backlash for a speech she gave to the convention that was nearly exactly the same as a speech given to the Democratic National Convention by Michelle Obama back in 2008.
“Trump is strong in every one of those districts”, said Cox.
Susan MacManus, a political science professor at the University of South Florida, said Florida’s voters may not share the disdain for Bush expressed by party activists.
So many reputable Republicans are not at the convention.
Christie in 2012 called Gingrich “an embarrassment for the party” when Gingrich was campaigning against Mitt Romney for the nomination for president.
“We are unified certainly in form”, said Cox, who expects that as the convention proceeds the delegates will also be “unified in sprit” as well.
On “60 Minutes”, CBS’s Lesley Stahl asked what the mild-mannered Pence thinks of Trump’s coarse campaign style.
The former speaker addressed security concerns at the convention and for the nation as a whole.
Members of the Bush family have said little about Trump since the end of the Republican primaries, but their views are clear.
