Pogba Set for Return

Conflicting reports in the media have increased the suspense of the much-talked about transfer saga of Paul Pogba from Italian football club Juventus to English giants Manchester United. United agreed personal terms with Raiola, whose contact with Pogba was restricted during Euro 2016 as he focused on France’s campaign, earlier this month.

Juventus director Giuseppe Marotta has denied there is a deal in place for Paul Pogba to join Manchester United.

Pogba is now on holiday in Miami (returning on the 6 August) and has left contract dealings in the hands of his agent, Mino Raiola.

Mourinho has already brought in Eric Bailly from Villarreal – along with Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a free contract and Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund – but did identify central defence as the area that most needs strengthening after central midfield.

Manchester United asked about Leonardo Bonucci during recent Paul Pogba discussions.

Now though, with United looking to splash the cash under Mourinho, re-signing Pogba has become a priority for the Red Devils – and they appear to have made a breakthrough.
