Paul Ryan Slams Hillary Clinton, But Mostly Ignores Donald Trump
House Speaker Paul Ryan offered an upbeat assessment of the presidential campaign and the Republican ideals of less government and more individual liberty during the Republican National Convention on Tuesday.

He replaced an Ohioan, John Boehner, as the House speaker.
Ryan planned to speak Wednesday to Republicans from OH, a must-win swing state for presidential candidates in recent decades. (The full program is outlined at better.gop).
Not only did Ryan ignore the progress of the past eight years – unemployment rate down, weekly earnings up, undocumented immigrant population down, stock market up, trade deficit down, corporate profits up, etc. – but he made some particularly rich statements, given the man he now supports for president. “People are missing their potential”, he said.
Ryan has come around on Trump in recent weeks, framing the election as a “binary choice” with one unacceptable option. Take a look at the area around the Great Lakes, we’ve been through a lot. And he’s hoping the GOP comes out on top.The Wisconsin Republican received thunderous applause Monday morning as he stepped up to the podium inside the ballroom at a DoubleTree Hotel just outside Cleveland.
“What this does is it puts a chilling effect on jobs, on risk taking and on investment”.
Ryan said Republicans want to uphold the Constitution.
“I prefer less personality contests and more ideas contests”, he said.
“We’ve got to return the lawmaking power back to the legislative branch”, he said.
“This health care law is going to collapse under its own weight”, he said.
“It’s very important. It’s in the heartland of America”.
“It’s a process”, state Attorney General Mike DeWine said.
“Scrap the tax code”.
“I hope that people don’t conclude that that’s the way to win an election”, Ryan said at a lunch hosted by the Wall Street Journal.

“Guess what Hillary Clinton doesn’t agree with any of this stuff”. “They are offering a third Obama term, brought to you by another Clinton”. However, the Wisconsin representative spent most of his 12 minutes on stage trying to convince Republicans at Quicken Loans Arena (and across the country) to unify by Trump and vice presidential nominee Mike Pence.
