Minnesota shooting death of Philando Castile: Officers Jeronimo Yanez, Joseph Kauser identified

As the AP notes, it is impossible to know how numerous times Castile was pulled over were the result of racial profiling, but a 2001 study conducted in the area at the request of the Minnesota State Legislature had indicated that, as is often the case throughout the country, racial and ethnic bias likely played a role in police officers’ traffic stop policies and practices, as well as the citizen reports that sometimes lead to those stops.

She added that she wasn’t even told that Castile had died until 3 a.m.

Castile’s uncle told KARE 11 News he was an “upstanding young man”.

Castile’s girlfriend, Diamond Reynolds, then began live streaming, telling viewers that Castile was complying with the officer’s orders by reaching for his wallet when he was shot and killed.
