“I think it’s going to be a big season for us”.
But regardless of the final breakdown, the capture of Pogba stands to smash all records, and deliver the type of headlines that new United boss José Mourinho hinted at when he recently said he wanted to pull off a signing that would “make everybody sit up straight”.
“Hopefully we can have a good start to the season and be successful at the end of it”. We are all as a group of players excited by it and I think the signings that we have made have been fantastic.
“It’s one of the biggest, if not the biggest, clubs in the world and it’s been a pleasure and a privilege to play for United for so long”.
“I am excited for it”, the United captain said of the campaign ahead, shortly after landing in Shanghai. “Of course it will be hard but let’s hope to have good preparation and then we will see”.
Get treble the odds on Manchester United to win the Premier League next season.
The Frenchman would be returning to the club after he was released on a free deal in 2012.
Manchester United have reportedly agreed a R1.9 billion fee, which would break the current transfer world record, to sign Paul Pogba.
Manchester United have opened talks with Juventus over a proposed move for Pogba, and while the Italian champions are expected to knock back their initial offer of €101m, the deal is expected to pick up pace in the coming days.
United have also agreed to buy Pogba’s commercial rights and pay him an extra £4.2m a season, taking his earnings to £290,000 a week.
Real Madrid are the only other club the player could join, although the Spanish club’s manager, Zinedine Zidane, admitted earlier this week that he is happy with his current squad.

It is not yet known how much of the fee will be broken down into conditional instalments – á la the Anthony Martial deal last summer – and exactly what portion of the fee will be pocketed by Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola.
