Metropolitan Baptist Church Providing Tools for New School Year

First Presbyterian Church, a Christian center of worship in Lebanon since 1910, will meet Sunday for a contemporary service in the chapel at 8:45 a.m. and a traditional service in the sanctuary at 11 a.m. Sunday school classes meet at 9:45 a.m. for all ages.

The Balls lived in Fostoria and pastored Fostoria Baptist Temple from 1974 to 1980.

They will participate in a couple of mission projects.

Ball has published a book titled, “Let Us Give”.

10 a.m.: McBeth Baptist Church will be hosting a Leadership Conference entitled “How To Use What We Learned At Baptist Congress To Benefit Our Church” in the Fellowship Hall.

Shiloh Outreach Baptist Church, 194 Maybinton Road, Whitmire, holds a Community Bible Study on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. All are welcome. The service will be led by Pastor Mark Fuerstenau. The second assembly begins at 11:15 a.m.in the Witt Family Life Center. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Sandy Young, pastor of Cid and Fairview United Methodist churches and son of the former pastor, the late Rev. Charles Young.

The Diocese of Toledo is joining the Rosary Evangelization Apostolate’s 2015 National 54-Day Rosary Novena, “For Family and Marriage”. Remember the sick and shut-ins with prayers, a card or a phone call. Local high school bands and dancers will entertain visitors.

Calvary Chapel of Chico: 1888 Springfield Drive: “Who is Able to Stand?” from Pastor Sam Allen, 6 p.m. with Communion.

On October 7, the traveling rosary will be brought to Rosary Cathedral in Toledo to conclude the novena. Dinner will be served following the morning worship service.

Meals include a choice of chicken or ham, potatoes, applesauce, green beans, rolls, dessert and drink.

Cost is $8 per person. Homecoming service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday with guest preacher the Rev. Dr. Sir Walter Mack Jr., Union Baptist Church, Winston-Salem.

The church, 835 N. Koontz Road, will celebrate Old-Fashioned Day at 3 p.m. August 16.

All activities are free and open to the community, including lunch, horse rides, inflatables, train and hay rides, balloon animals, face painting, games, fishing and remote-controlled boat racing. Monday Men’s Bible fellowship is 5:30 p.m. Monday.

First Christian Church – Disciples of Christ: 295 E. Washington Ave.: “Transformational Worship”, from the Rev. Jesse Kearns, 8:30 a.m.in chapel and 11 a.m.in sanctuary. “He got me to preach his word”. He was nominated for the award by students at Winebrenner’s Marion location. The education prepares the inmates to be volunteer chaplains in the prison and for the possibility of future service if they are released into their respective communities.
