Indian forces feared fresh trouble after Pakistan called for observing a “black day” in the country to express solidarity with “Kashmiris who are facing atrocities at the hands of Indian forces”.
It was further decided in the meeting that keeping in view the fast deteriorating human rights situation in Indian Held Kashmir, government of Pakistan would sent parliamentary delegations to foreign countries to highlight the cause of innocent Kashmiris and their sufferings.
Thousands of demonstrators took to the streets across Pakistan Wednesday to protest against the ongoing violence in the Indian-administered Kashmir, where days of clashes between residents and Indian forces have claimed the lives of 45 people.
Responding to opposition criticism that the Prime Minister was “beating drums” in Africa when Kashmir was burning, Singh said Modi was in touch with him during the tour also, enquiring about the situation and giving suggestions.
Lashing out at Pakistan, Singh said: “They broke off from India in the name of religion, but today they are broken in two parts because of terrorism”.
The Union Ministry of External Affairs on Thursday asked Pakistan to refrain from meddling in India’s internal affairs, reported The Indian Express.
People including officials wore black arm bands while performing their duties to express political, moral and diplomatic support to Kashmiris during working hours, it added.
While addressing a cabinet meeting in Lahore on July 15, Sharid had announced to observe July 19 as a black day, but Pakistan observes July 19 as “Accession to Pakistan” day; therefore, the Black-day was shifted to July 20.
Rejecting allegations by opposition that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was not anxious about the situation in Kashmir, he said, “I understand that everyone in the House is concerned about the situation in Kashmir”. “US India together in occupation and genocide – Kashmir wants freedom”, the banner read.
Rallies were held in various cities to draw the attention of the global community on the Kashmir issue, the Express Tribune reported.
He named Hafiz Saeed and Syed Salahuddin – Pakistan-based terror heads – for fuelling tension in Jammu and Kashmir following the July 8 killing of Burhan Wani.
Describing the youth of Kashmir as “patriots”, he said in “there is an attempt to misguide some” of them and a “mindset that stokes baseless anger against India”.

“Instead of fixing its internal problems, Pakistan is trying to destabilize India”, the Indian media quoted Rajnath Singh as saying in the Lok Sabha during a debate on the Kashmir issue.
