McIver said she worked closely on the speech with Melania Trump and that, “A person she has always liked is Michelle Obama”.
A small section of Melania Trump’s roughly 15-minute speech, a highlight of the opening day of the convention in Cleveland, was similar to Michelle Obama’s 2008 speech in support of Barack Obama, then a USA senator campaigning for president. I wanted to know how Donald and Melania might talk to each other after the fallout from her gratuitously plagiarized speech. Since Monday night, the prospective first lady said she wrote the speech herself, and The New York Times published an investigation absolving the main campaign speechwriters.
She says her notes from that conversation made it into the final version, adding she feels awful for the “chaos” she caused. “No harm was meant”.
And Wednesday, Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort said the airport meeting between former President Bill Clinton and Attorney General Loretta Lynch last month probably helped Clinton’s wife escape criminal charges over her use of a private email server as secretary of state.
Kentucky delegate George Barnett said the choice was clear: “The bottom line here is we need to get rid of Hillary”.
During the campaign for the party’s nomination, Trump insulted Cruz’s wife’s looks and suggested the Texan’s father was with John F. Kennedy’s assassin just before the president was shot in Dallas in 1963.

Federal Bureau of Investigation officials called Clinton’s email practices “careless”, but the Justice Department announced earlier this month there was not enough evidence to charge her with a crime.

As Cuomo insisted he was merely focusing on the truth that the language came from Michelle Obama’s speech, Manafort tried again.
