Cruz Defiantly Defends Decision to Snub Trump
Donald Trump is set to accept the Republican nomination for president Thursday evening at his party’s convention in Cleveland while Toomey was campaigning back home in Pennsylvania for a second six-year term. Ted Cruz defended his decision not to endorse the GOP presidential nominee.

Cruz said he will be “watching and listening” but won’t “sit down, shut up, support the team”.
“It was nearly WWE fashion – it was nearly like a wrestling event”, Burlison said, and “Donald Trump clearly came out on top”. “I don’t intend to say negative things about Donald Trump”, said Cruz.
“This is not a game, it is not politics, right and wrong matters we have not abandoned who we are in this country”. “Stand up and speak, and vote your conscience, vote for candidates up and down the ticket who you trust to defend our freedom”. “He’s done a great job as governor and I think he’ll do a great job as our next vice president of the United States”, said Jordan Hennessy, a Dare Co.
Luckily for Coats, Cruz was not the last Republican to speak in the prime-time program.
“During the course of the speech more and more people were coming down closer and closer to Heidi and (Ted Cruz’s father) Rafael….”
His brother Donald Trump Jr. said big Republican donors from Texas had told him they would never again write checks to a Cruz campaign.
“I know a lot of folks were looking for something else, but that’s not what Ted Cruz is about”. He added that he doesn’t intend to “throw rocks” at Trump, the Republican party’s presidential nominee.
Cruz was booed in Cleveland, where Trump supporters dominate.
In his speech, Cruz criticized the Obama administration, which he said “thinks it’s possible to make a deal with Iran, that celebrates its holidays: “Death to America Day” and ‘Death to Israel Day'”.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, for example, said that Cruz would be “less of a person” if he didn’t. Trump not only upstaged Cruz by entering the convention floor at the end of the speech and flashing a thumbs up to the jeering crowd, but tweeted not long after: “Wow, Ted Cruz got booed off the stage, didn’t honor the pledge!”.
“Our party now has a nominee”, Cruz said, laughing as Trump’s personal plane flew overhead.
“The convention has destroyed unity”, said Minor, who was heavily involved in the failed effort to put Cruz into nomination.

Both the Trump campaign and GOP establishment figures have rebuked Cruz for his speech.
