Joe Perry, Aerosmith Guitarist, Slumps and Stumbles Off Performance Stage

Perry was performing Sunday night with his side project Hollywood Vampires, which features glam metal pioneer Alice Cooper on vocals and Hollywood star Johnny Depp as a fellow guitarist.

Aerosmith’s lead guitarist Joe Perry was rushed to hospital after he collapsed during a concert in NY.

Fans told the newspaper Perry appeared out of sorts, then exited the stage.

He was in stable condition after being taken to Coney Island Hospital, according to WPIX-TV. “His brother Vampires and fans wish him a speedy recovery”.

Perry was “stable”, a band representative said, without offering further detail on his condition.

After the show, he posted on Twitter that Perry was doing better.

Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry is “stable” after collapsing during a performance with American rock supergroup the Hollywood Vampires.

Hollywood Vampires are in the midst of a US tour and were scheduled to appear tonight on CBS’ “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”.

Fans say Perry looked out of sorts, sat down on stage, then walked off in the middle of a song.

According to reports the 65-year-old was playing in Brooklyn with his band Hollywood Vampires when he staggered off stage and collapsed. “Thanks to everyone asking about our brother [Joe Perry]”, Cooper wrote Sunday.

Meanwhile, Cooper has been offering updates about Perry on Twitter.

“The Hollywood Vampires continue their tour starting with July 12, at Fraze Pavillion in Kettering, Ohio”, the band noted.

Perry is one of the co-founders of Aerosmith, and is often listed amongst music’s best guitarists.
