The eyes of the world will be watching the Premier League contest between United and City following the appointments of Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola at Old Trafford and the Etihad respectively.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Rashford, who did not feature in Saturday’s win against Wigan Athletic in order to rest following recent global commitments, said that “it means a lot to be going” on his first pre-season tour with the senior squad.
Mourinho said: ‘With Eric, the way the fans showed how much they liked his performance when I changed him. “I think it’s going to be a big season for us”.

“We’re hoping he can bring in that success to us”.
After netting just five times during his loan spell on the south coast with Brighton, Mourinho is confident that he can compete with the quadrant of Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Wayne Rooney and new recruit Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
“We have had a couple over the last three or four years, which is not the Manchester United style, who are used to a manager like Sir Alex Ferguson being in there for so many years”.
They do seem to have the strength and capability to improve significantly on last season’s fifth place. “Of course, he’s a very good player and every club wants the best players, but right now he’s at Juve and we have a large squad already”.
United start their campaign away at Bournemouth on August 14 before playing host to Southampton, now managed by Claude Puel, five days later.
It was taken in good humour, though, as was a question about how the captain was finding it working under former Chelsea, Real Madrid and Inter Milan boss Mourinho.
