“Even though I disagree with the tactics and the divisive rhetoric of the Black Lives Matter movement, I do understand that hopelessness and lack of opportunity breeds this type of desperation”, Burns said, explaining what he believes is responsible for the current unrest in the country after police shootings in Dallas and Baton Rouge, along with the deaths of young black men in Louisiana and Minnesota. The fact that some journalists were walking around the streets of Cleveland with drafts in their pockets a full six hours before he was due to take the stage appeared to speak once more to the chaotic nature of the campaign. Her bad instincts and her bad judgment – something pointed out by Bernie Sanders – are what caused numerous disasters unfolding today.

Trump was introduced by his eldest daughter, Ivanka. “And his answer – more fear, more division, more anger, more hate – was yet another reminder that he is temperamentally unfit and totally unqualified to be President of the United States”, campaign chairman John Podesta said in a statement shortly after Trump wrapped his lengthy address”.

“Middle-income Americans and businesses will experience profound relief, and taxes will be greatly simplified for everyone”, he said. “Reducing taxes will cause new companies and new jobs to come roaring back into our country”. “Our roads and bridges are falling apart, our airports are in Third World condition, and 43 million Americans are on food stamps”.

“I have joined the political arena so that the powerful can no longer beat up on people that cannot defend themselves”.

Trump will take on Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton in the November polls.

Trump’s publicly stated positions on major policies, including fully funding social programs, an anti-free trade policy, and calling into question continued US support for its overseas allies, are seen as largely outside of traditional US Republican party stances. But then he went on: “We will be a country of generosity and warmth”. Though some seats in the Quicken Loans Arena were still empty, it was far fuller than it had been earlier this week.

“I will fight for you, and I will win for you”, he vowed.
