John Hartson suggests Arsenal should move for Paul Pogba

If the two clubs can agree a deal the Frenchman would become United’s fourth summer signing following the arrivals of Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

This will make Pogba the most expensive player in the history of football, surpassing Gareth Bale’s transfer to Real Madrid.

However, reports claim that Juventus are likely to rebuff this approach, with the cash up front a must if they are to alter their stance in regard to keeping their key man.

In an interview with The Times, agent of the France global, Mino Raiola, has revealed that Pogba’s transfer to United is far from done.

The Italian champions want Pogba to tell them he wants to leave before agreeing to a sale and will then demand up to £100m for their prize asset.

Pogba left Old Trafford on a free transfer in 2012 but could be set to return this summer, with negotiations over a deal understood to have begun earlier this month.

Now, though, a return to United could now be on the cards and the Guardian reports a transfer package worth £100million has been turned down by the Turin giants.

Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward was not on the club’s flight to China for the pre-season tour but is expected to be in attendance for the Manchester City match in Beijing on Monday.

Add in the added factor that United were guilty of undervaluing him a few years ago and let him go, but the great seducer Mourinho may have helped overcome that bad memory.
