Newborn baby with umbilical cord discovered alive on LA sidewalk
He told local news channel ABC7 Los Angeles: “When I got up close to the stroller and the blanket was clean, it was just like, ‘Oh, I hope nobody did this, I hope I’m not about to find a baby in here, ‘ and sure enough that’s what happened”.

The newborn is reportedly in stable condition after being hospitalized around 1 p.m. “Like to know why the baby was left there”, said Officer Sean Parker. “But the most important thing … is that the baby is safe”, he added. The newborn baby boy was described as either white or Hispanic.
Detectives continued to search on Wednesday for the mother of an abandoned newborn who was found in a stroller near a church in Exposition Park.
When he passed the same spot the following day he decided to look inside, and to his disbelief saw the baby, wearing pyjamas and covered in sweat, inside.
He said: “You took your time to dress him up, but you couldn’t take your time to take him somewhere safe”.
The baby’s stroller was located across from St. Agnes Church, where according to Rev. David Matz, the church had social services.
‘You just left him out on the street – threw him out like trash.

Parents who do not want to keep their newborns can legally surrender them to staffers at hospitals or fire stations within 72 hours of birth, no questions asked, under California’s Safely Surrendered Baby Law.
