Johnson shares lead in Canada

It was meant to be the local hero’s week at Glen Abbey Golf Club, Canadian Hearn leading and in contention right up until he hit his approach to the green on the 72nd hole.

“You miss the fairway with an iron off the tee, there’s no chance of keeping it on the green anyway, so you may as well get it up close to the green”.

But Day was just getting started.

“It’s been the best 12 months of my life”.

Nathan Green won his lone PGA TOUR event here in 2009 in a playoff over two-time US Open champion, Retief Goosen.

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Jason Day is a slight favorite to win it all, as he has 5/1 odds.

Kraft, a 28-year-old from Denton, Texas, who is 470th in the world, got off to a sizzling start and was 6-under after just nine holes. And the BMW, Palmer and Players crowns were wire-to-wire victories. He was still looking for his first major championship back then. “I’d like to win everything from here on in”, a determined Day says. An ealier version had the wrong world ranking for Jason Day.

Johnson is seeking his third win of the season while Luke List is attempting to win the first tournament of his professional career.

It felt, he said about the greens that ran on the slow side, “like I’m hitting it with a sledgehammer and it’s going nowhere”, which led Day to go nowhere. List has missed five cuts in his last seven tournaments and finished tied for 20th and tied for 50th in the other two.

There’s always a lot of emotion when a Canadian golfer returns to the RBC Canadian Open, and I was really excited coming in this year after finishing third in 2015.

“RBC’s support of the game itself, from the grassroots right up to the elite level here in Canada, is unprecedented and I can say, matter of factly, that the game in this country would not be where it is today without the support of RBC”, said Golf Canada CEO Scott Simmons.

“I need to work harder than I ever have before to keep that spot”. “I’d like to win everything from here on in”. I hit a ton of greens previous year as well.

“He’s playing tremendous golf now, and he’s on the heels”. He also is the defending champion at this tournament.

“Had to change the game plan a little bit as it’s just a little tough with how dry everything is, it’s nearly better to get up there around the greens with a wedge in your hand”. “I think it sets up well for me”. If it happens, great. You’ve got to try and win as many as you can.

Heading into the tournament this week I hadn’t returned to Glen Abbey since that finish.

Recent Tour victor Greg Chalmers will be making use of his new status on the world’s best circuit and major victor Geoff Ogilvy is one of Australia’s biggest names in the field.
