Trump Jr.: Kasich was briefly VP prospect
The co-chairman of Trump’s campaign in New Hampshire has urged that state’s delegates at the Republican National Convention to boycott an event Kasich has planned with them this afternoon, according to a report from New Hampshire news channel NH1.

Kasich dismissed the argument that perhaps Trump does not actually believe the offensive rhetoric that he espouses, a claim many Republicans have made in their attempts to justify their support of the party’s nominee. “I think we’re better with Donald Trump”, he said.
When the adviser asked what that would leave for President Trump, Donald Jr. reportedly replied, “Making America great again”.
Asked whether he thought the impasse was hurting OH, as Newt Gingrich said earlier Wednesday on CNN, Anderson said: “I don’t think it’s hurting OH”, adding, “I just think him and Trump need to come together, and Trump needs to make that initial effort”.
Responding to this report, the senior Trump tweeted: “John Kasich was never asked by me to be V.P”.
Donald Trump badly wanted to name John Kasich his vice presidential running mate, reportedly offering to make the OH governor the most powerful vice president in history.
When asked what that meant, Trump Jr. allegedly explained that Kasich would be put in charge of both foreign and domestic policy.
Trump Organization staff writer Meredith McIver released a statement Wednesday apologizing for the mistake, saying she submitted her resignation to Donald Trump, but he refused to accept it.
Cleveland – Gov. John Kasich invited supporters to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame July 19 to voice his appreciation for their support during his presidential campaign.
Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort said the governor embarrassed his state by not endorsing the GOP nominee.
It seems that Trump at first wanted Kasich but had to settle with Pence.
In an interview with NBC News Monday, he said Trump would “have to change everything that he says” for him to agree to speak at the convention. And in the closest he came to alluding to Trump, Kasich offered this reflection: “I’m not a bumper sticker guy”.
But Trump is still important to the Ohio Republican Party because weakness at the top of the ticket could hurt down-ticket races, including U.S. Sen.
Ultimately Trump settled on Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, who brings to the ticket legislative experience from his days as a member of Congress.
Kasich has been noticeably absent from the convention floor, and is not speaking at the convention, even though it is being held in his state.

“I traveled all over OH, and I took a beating”, he said.
