Tamara Samsonova, a Russian pensioner who is being investigated by police over 13 murders may have cannibalised her victims.

The ‘Granny Ripper’s’ diary excerpts include a chilling confession of murdering one of her former lodgers.
Daily Mail reports that she is also believed to have eaten parts of her victims.
Now authorities suspect the monstrous senior feasted on her victims’ lungs and limbs like a real-life version of Hannibal Lecter, British tabloid The Sun reported.
Samsonova was caught after being seen on CCTV footage hauling Ulanova’s body parts in a black plastic bag.
The parts, police say, belonged to Valentina Ulanova, 79, a woman in her care.
Detectives in Russian Federation are refusing to release details of her diary until the multiple murder investigation is completed.
She is also suspected of murdering her husband who has been missing since 2005.
“I killed my tenant Volodya, cut him to pieces in the bathroom with a knife and put the pieces of his body in plastic bags and threw them away in the different parts of Frunzensky district”, a diary entry reads.
Tamara Samsonova, 68, was arrested in July on suspicion of killing a 79-year-old woman, cutting up her body and disposing of it in a pond. I was getting ready for this court action for dozens of years.
Appearing in court earlier this week for the slaying of Ulanova, Samsonova stated, “It was all done deliberately. With this last murder I closed the chapter”.
When the judge asked her if she thought she should be arrested, she replied: “You decide, your honour. After all, I am guilty and I deserve a punishment”.
“Now police are going through all old unsolved cases for the last 20 years”, said a law enforcement source.
Later she blew a kiss to reporters.

When he announced she would be held in custody, she smiled and clapped her hands. Police have not revealed evidence to directly support allegations of cannibalism, but they said she kept a detailed diary of her crimes. And in her flat, police found a saw, a knife, and blood spots in the bathroom. Police said she has confessed to them in at least two killings.
