Mourinho coy over Pogba deal

“I don’t confirm and I don’t deny (that we have agreed to sign Pogba)”, Mourinho said in Shanghai.

Jose Mourinho has warned Juventus that haggling over the final details of Paul Pogba’s proposed move to Old Trafford could see Manchester United turn their attention to other targets.

The $132 million would be a world record and is a huge amount even for a club as big as Manchester United. It’s a profile we have, we have options, and we’re going to get a fourth player.

“I’m really confident Mr Woodward (United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward) and the owners can get the profile of the player I think the squad needs”.

Manchester United have opened negotiations with Juventus for the transfer of Paul Pogba and now it has been reported that Mino Raiola, Pogba’s agent, has travelled to the USA to meet his client and close the deal.

While United would be unable to offer Champions League football next season, something Italian champions Juventus can, they hope Pogba will look to N’Golo Kante’s switch to Chelsea for £30m.

United’s number one target Pogba, who wants to rejoin the Red Devils just four years after leaving the club, was snapped smoking an electronic cigarette while on holiday in Miami this week.

According to reports, the 23-year-old’s transfer fee can reach around a record-breaking $130 million.

“There is no deal done regarding Paul Pogba, lots of bla bla bla”, he tweeted.

“We are not going to be in the hands of one club that may sell and maybe doesn’t sell”.

“I am not going to try to make you naive and believe that we are not trying for one player”, said Mourinho.

Mourinho has already signed Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan since replacing the sacked Louis van Gaal.

“I asked them for four players, four profiles of players I needed and I gave them options”. They did for me 75 percent of the job.
