Winning Nebraska Lottery Lotto tickets expire 180 days after the drawing.

Under the California law, lottery winners are mandated to be publicly announced.

Marvin and Mae Acosta from Chino Hills bought a ticket worth up to $528 million, depending on their payout choice.

Time is running out for the January 23, 2016 Powerball drawing, and organizers say a $50,000 Powerball ticket was purchased in Grant County.

The Acostas will take their winnings in a cash option totaling $327.8 million before federal taxes, lottery officials said.

Rather than having their winnings spread out over 30 years, the Acostas took a lesser amount.

The Bismarck man won a base prize of $50,000 and purchased the Power Play option for $1, which tripled his winnings to $150,000.

According to NBC News, the Acostas used some of the period of six months to hire “advisers who could help them become “good stewards” of their windfall”. Powerball’s jackpot has surged to an estimated $450 million after the first drawing of the new year resulted in no winning ticket holders, the operator of the multistate game said on Sunday. The two other winners of the Powerball jackpot were in Florida and Tennessee. “They asked some of the usual questions, such as, ‘Can they remain anonymous?’ and ‘What information needs to be disclosed?'” said Traverso.
