Tottenham manager shock: Argentina set to hold phone interview with Mauricio Pochettino
Mauricio Pochettino and Diego Simeone are among the men Argentina want to talk to about the national team coach vacancy following last month’s shock resignation of Gerardo Martino.

“It will take charge of administrating (the AFA) which includes choosing a national team coach”, Federation Internationale de Football Association representative Primo Corvaro, who picked the committee members, told reporters. Argentina meet Uruguay and Venezuela in 2018 World Cup qualifying as soon as September.
The position has been vacant ever since former coach Gerardo Martino resigned after Argentina failed to win in the Copa America 2016 final against Chile.
National football association (AFA) chief Armando Perez is to fly to Spain to speak to Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone and Sevilla’s Jorge Sampaoli.
The 44-year-old Pochettino, who is also a former Argentina global is contracted to the London club until 2022.
With Pochettino under contract at White Hart Lane until 2022, it would be highly unlikely for him to leave his post at Spurs, but when your nation come calling, it must always be as very hard job to turn down. Both have said their ambition is to coach Argentina and would be popular choices.
Talks will also take place with Messi, as Perez tries to convince the Barcelona star to reverse his decision to retire from worldwide duty.
Argentina vice-captain Javier Mascherano will also be spoken to by Perez.

“It would be gratifying for everyone to persuade Messi to desist from his decision [to quit]”, Perez told reporters.
