Pippa Middleton caught the world’s attention when she played bridesmaid at the royal wedding of her sister Kate and Prince William, the Duchess and Duke of Cambridge. Her look was praised by the public and replicas of the dress were in high demand.

The royal couple “are absolutely delighted with the news”, a Kensington Palace spokesman said after Middleton stepped out in the morning wearing a diamond-studded engagement ring valued by jewellery experts at £200,000 (RM1 million).

The bride-to-be got a ton of attention during Kate’s wedding to Prince William in 2011, when she attended the event in a booty-hugging white gown. Her engagement ring from James Matthews, 40, features a blinding Asscher cut diamond in an Art Deco-inspired setting.

Miss Middleton and Mr Matthews, who have been dating for less than a year, were seen enjoying the tennis at Wimbledon earlier this month.

Richard Kay of the Daily Mail broke the news in his column on Tuesday, reporting that Matthews, a self-made hedge fund multimillionaire, proposed during a trip to England’s Lake District.

I knew there was a reason she stopped calling.

“Kate is so happy for Pippa”, the insider says.

Pippa Middleton and her boyfriend James Matthews are engaged! Following their split, she dated banker Nico Jackson for three years but they ended their relationship last year, and in September there were rumours that she had rekindled her romance with James. On that day, the younger Middleton almost “stole the show” with her very “shapely bridesmaid dress”, also designed by McQueen, Eastwood said.
