Continued heat, humidity, scattered pm storms expected

Heat index values will be in the range of 105 to 108 this afternoon ahead of some cooling relief as scattered storms will be possible later in the day. A few storms in the morning will linger but coverage should be isolated.
Highs this afternoon will reach the upper 90s to low 100s under sunny skies with a breezy south wind. Winds: SE/SW 5-10 miles per hour.
Severe weather isn’t expected, but please be aware that deadly cloud-to-ground lightning, heavy downpours and gusty winds will accompany some of the strongest storms that will could quickly pop up. High: Mid 80s to near 90 degrees. Heat index 99 – 108+. Winds: NE/E 5-10 miles per hour.
FRIDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy night.
Saturday won’t be completely quiet, another round of showers & thunderstorms will sprout up in the afternoon. Winds: SW 5-10 miles per hour.
News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist James Gregorio says temperatures will reach the mid to upper 90s across much of the state on Friday and Saturday.
Little change in our scorching weather is likely over the next 3 days as the upper ridge increasingly makes its presence felt in the eastern USA, though early next week we may see the temperatures pull back a bit closer to normal.
