Donald Trump promises a safe, prosperous America as he accepts presidential nomination
If he was trying to show delegates that they should have buyer’s remorse, well that was answered by the endless boos that were hurled at him as he exited the limelight. The Republican presidential nominee addresses this convention, and the nation, tonight.

Due to speak at the end of a four-day-old convention notable for a lack of policy details, Trump will offer a sampling of the policies he has said he will pursue if elected. “He’s got to get up, shake hands”. If Trump does lose, will Cruz-by withholding his endorsement and his assistance-be blamed by Trump supporters, and Trump agnostics, for contributing to his defeat? “Ted!” Cruz was jeered off the stage as Trump entered the hall and gave a thumbs-up.
In typical Trump fashion, he cast himself as the only one who could solve America’s problems. Still, the Cruz non-endorsement was a remarkable departure from standard operating procedure for a defeated candidate.
Compare and contrast the remarks of Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, who preceded Cruz: “A vote for anyone other than Donald Trump in November is a vote for Hillary Clinton”, he said.
“While the nation suffers under the weight of $19 trillion in a national debt, we in IN have a two billion dollar surplus, the highest credit rating in the nation even though we’ve cut taxes every year since I became governor”. “No matter how conservative you are, you never can meet Ted’s standard”, Sen. “He only thinks of himself”.
Let’s start with Ted Cruz that we know in Washington D.C., who is a self-absorbed, narcissistic individual that’s all about Ted Cruz-America now knows that. I’ll be talking about many different things.
He continued: “That pledge was not a blanket commitment that if you go and slander and attack Heidi that I’m going to nonetheless come like a servile puppy dog”. “This is bigger than any one of us and it’s time for him to be a part of that”.
Cruz did not back down Thursday as delegates from his home state cajoled and heckled him during a morning breakfast meeting.
Speaking to a passionate but divided Texas delegation, Cruz said the unconditional support for the GOP nominee that he had promised earlier this year disappeared “the day this became personal”.
The newly crowned Republican nominee had hoped for a triumphant turn at the podium, but he has instead been plagued by fresh political and policy headaches: His most tenacious primary rival, Senator Ted Cruz, still refused to endorse him – and happily took the convention stage anyway. “We will be a country of generosity and warmth”.

Mr Trump said he wanted to reduce United States military expenditure and involvement overseas. Mike Rounds (R-SD). She later told Mashable that she wanted to focus her speech on how we need visionary leadership in spaceflight to inspire America again. “But his supporters will join our movement, because we will fix his biggest issue: trade”.
Even some of Cruz’s allies in the Freedom Caucus were dismayed by Cruz’s actions.
Cruz said he had made clear he would not come to the convention to support a candidate who bashed his family. “I think she’s one of his best assets”.
Who knows. Maybe Ted Cruz did, too.
Two other delegates stepped aside rather than vote for Trump, giving their spots to their alternates.

California delegate Shawn Steel said Ivanka Trump’s speech was “the high point of the entire convention for me”. “The problems we face now – poverty and violence at home, war and destruction overseas – will last only as long as we continue relying on the same politicians who created them”. He played up a tabloid report that Cruz’s father, Rafael, kind-of, sort-of might have been wrapped up in that whole Kennedy assassination thing.
