England’s Manager-Elect Sam Allardyce in Numbers
Former Bolton Wanderers coach Sam Allardyce has been named as the new manager of the Three Lions of England.

In a statement, Sunderland said it was “aware of the intense media speculation” but that Allardyce remained in charge “at the present time”.
Allardyce is unlikely to bring any of his Sunderland backroom team with him, having accepted a series of club appointees when he arrived last season.
Allardyce, whose only piece of silverware came at the beginning of his managerial career with an Irish League title at Limerick City, couldn’t hide his joy after at last getting the job he had coveted all his long managerial career.
The 61-year-old, who begins work immediately, said: “I am extremely honoured to be appointed England manager, especially as it is no secret that this is the role I have always wanted”.
“I was a fan of England for the Euros”.
“It is your country and I think you have a complicated country for the person who gets the job”, Mourinho explained.
The announcement will happen, according to the AP, at a Football Association (FA) board meeting on Thursday afternoon.
In their search for Hodgson’s successor the trio also interviewed Steve Bruce and considered Arsene Wenger, Eddie Howe and Jurgen Klinsmann.
The Burnley captain believes that the current Sunderland boss has earned his crack at becoming the national team’s boss after his extensive football experience.
“Allardyce has the ability to realise the potential of players and teams, develop a strong team ethos and embrace modern methods”.
“So the new manager’s got to be someone who can inspire people to get the best out of themselves, build resilience and unashamedly adopt the kind of psychological techniques that other sports and other football teams have done”.
Allardyce was with the Sunderland squad on Wednesday evening, taking charge of what proved to be his final game as the main man on Wearside, as Sunderland defeated neighbours, Hartlepool United at Victoria Park.
England have little time to dwell on the humiliation in France, with qualifying for the 2018 World Cup beginning with an away match against Slovakia on September 4.

When Eriksson left the England job following the 2006 World Cup, Allardyce was beaten to the post by Steve McClaren.
