Dayashankar’s family files FIR against Mayawati, BSP leaders

The family of expelled BJP leader Dayashankar Singh today lodged an FIR against Mayawati and some other BSP leaders for allegedly using foul language against them during their public protest here.

Meanwhile, the BSP workers staged protests across several cities of the nation over Singh’s derogatory remark and demanded his arrest. “The BSP workers, who are in BSP since Kanshi Ram’s days are deserting the party”, said Singh, who was in Mau for the first time after becoming party vice president to meet party workers on Wednesday morning. Expulsion from the party will remain in force for six years in line with the party’s rules, BJP sources said.

Asserting that till date she was hearing cruel comments regarding her husband’s fate by BSP members in broad daylight, she added that she and her daughter were not being spared as well and had been dragged into the politics.

The BJP’s offensive comes on the day Dayashankar’s family lodged a FIR against Mayawati and her party workers for insulting modesty of women.

BJP has been wooing dalits, a politically crucial community in Uttar Pradesh which goes to the polls early next year, and Singh’s comments have the potential to damage its efforts.

Various BJP leaders including Union Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley and UP BJP chief have apologised to Mayawati for the remarks made by Singh. Heavy security has been deployed in the area and traffic diverted.BSp filed a police complaint lodging of a FIR against BJP leader under the sc/st act for his derogatory comments against its president Mayawati. “The whole country will not forgive BJP… people will come on the streets”.

Taking advantage of the situation, the Opposition tried to put the BJP in the corner.

“BJP should sack him from the party and also take legal action”. She also alleged she had received threats on phone.

In two parks in the state capital, Lucknow, and Noida, a suburb of Delhi, there are almost a dozen statues of Ms Mayawati and more than 75 stone elephants – the symbol of her party. Following this, Dayashankar expressed regret.
