For months, Democrats Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders have locked horns on the campaign trail, argued during debates and expressed concerns over each other’s policies.

“She will be the Democratic nominee for president, and I intend to do everything I can to make certain she will be the next president of the United States”, Sanders told a raucous crowd that included plenty of vocal Sanders supporters.

Powers remained uncommitted during the Sanders-Clinton struggle.

Five weeks after Clinton clinched the Democratic presidential nomination, the USA senator from Vermont ended his upstart campaign and joined her at a rally in Portsmouth to put their bitter primary battle behind them.

Clinton sees Sanders as someone who can capture those who might be attracted to Trump, especially in states he won such as New Hampshire, Michigan and Wisconsin.

Sanders wants to ensure that his ideas are part of the party platform presented at the Democratic National Convention later this month in Philadelphia, when Clinton is formally nominated.

Sanders waged a tougher-than-expected year-long battle against Clinton, but she clinched enough delegates to secure the nomination in early June.

But James LePage, a 25-year-old teacher from Denver who attended the rally, said he felt Clinton was “genuine” in her remarks.

Lastly, I’m more than happy to begin accepting apologizes from those of you who’ve been calling me names like “turncoat”, “RINO”, “establishment”, “liberal”, and “cuckservative” because of my stance, which your guy – Mr. Trump – finds so doggone respectable.

The joint rally in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, is a start in putting to rest Democratic fears of a political nightmare scenario: that Sanders might sit on his hands in the general election – or worse, run as a third-party candidate on the left. “While Donald Trump is busy insulting Mexicans, Muslims, women, African Americans and veterans, Hillary Clinton understands that our diversity is one of our greatest strengths”. U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders announced this morning ahead of a joint appearance with Hillary Clinton that he endorses the former first lady’s bid for the White House, ending an arduous campaign for the party’s nomination.

“There are a lot of unhappy campers out there who will not follow Sanders back into the graveyard of the Democratic Party”, Stein said.
