Samsung’s Amazing World Anthem for Rio Olympics (and Galaxy S7 Edge)

Samsung is one of the event sponsors and they’ve put together this brillaitn advert. Worldwide Olympic Partner in the Wireless Communications Equipment, today debuted its marquee Olympic Games advertisement, titled “The Anthem“.

The 90-second advert was created by the Leo Burnett advertising agency in Chicago, and features a mixture of 15 national anthems from around the world blended harmoniously into one song. Being among the largest technology companies in the world, Samsung has made a decision to use its vast resources and reach to create a truly global anthem which is a unique composition created from snippets of a number of national anthems from across the world.

“I’m thrilled to be among the talented and strong-minded athletes featured in Samsung’s ‘International Anthem, ‘ and to share my personal story of defying barriers with the world leading up to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games”, Daley said in a statement. The ad opens with a girl from Australia, for example, singing a line of the Botswana national anthem into a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge smartphone.

“Samsung executive vice president of global marketing, mobile communications business Younghee Lee says: “‘The Anthem’ is a reflection of the Samsung brand and our continuous pursuit to break down geographic barriers and unite the world through technology and borderless communication”.

Six global athletes are featured within the ad, each of whom has a unique story of defying barriers and pushing through constraints to make meaningful progress and achieve his or her goals.

Samsung’s anthem not only merges a number of national anthems to create a unique one, but is also based on the lives of six professional athletes who have broken barriers and crossed hard hurdles to achieve success at the Olympic games. In a statement, Medina said, “Samsung’s “The Anthem” is incredible because it’s a song that can unite and inspire the whole world”.

Samsung previously announced that it would deliver 12,500 Galaxy S7 edge Olympic Games Limited Edition units to Rio 2016 Olympians.
