Gujarat government is anti-Dalit: Arvind Kejriwal

If such incident is happening in the presence of administration then it means that those culprits were backed from higher powers.

Kejriwal inquired about the health of the victims at a hospital in Una and said that those responsible for the incident must be brought to justice. “Those being oppressed by the BJP will teach the party a lesson”, Mr Kejriwal told reporters after visiting the family of one of the men in Una, 360 km from Ahmedabad. “The government will have to take action”, the CPI leader had said.

The Delhi Chief Minister also questioned the state government’s intent to carry out an unbiased investigation into the matter. It shows that the government itself is involved in it. We have to fight against it together.

Three Dalits were killed in the police firing in 2012.

Mr. Kejriwal also stoked a controversy when he met Dalit youth Kanti Mulji Vala, arrested for the murder of head constable Pankaj Amrelia, at the Rajkot civil hospital where he is admitted.

“I asked them why they are committing suicide”.

A day earlier, Kejriwal said an atmosphere of “oppression” prevailed across Gujarat and people of all communities were feeling threatened.

Kejriwal’s attempt to garner personal and political mileage out of the unfortunate incident of flogging of Dalit youths was discredited when he first met a person accused of killing a policeman during the protest, and later the family members of the deceased policeman, Pandya said.
