Ted Cruz Risks Future with Dicey Political Game
A lot has happened since then – not the least of which, her husband, Donald Trump, became the party’s official nominee for president. Booing the senator after he told delegates to vote their conscience, many of them turned on Cruz and were reminded why they didn’t vote for him in the primary.

If Trump it seen banking too heavily on his children, he probably has good reasons for it. Or, as his running mate Mike Pence said, “As we say back home, you can’t fake good kids”.
At the brunch – held in a literal big tent at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, pro-LGBT Republicans sipped mimosas and mingled with transgender activist Caitlyn Jenner while a man carried a rainbow version of the Gadsden flag – a tea party symbol. Who has not lived up to his promise to support our nominee.
“I feel so badly, I feel so badly”, Trump said. They did not vote for Ted Cruz.
“As long as we are led by politicians who will not put ‘America First, ‘ then we can be assured that other nations will not treat America with respect”, he said.
Representative Peter King of Long Island drew a standing ovation by calling Cruz “a fraud and a liar”. The Republican National Committee’s communications director, Sean Spicer, agreed with the “verbiage” used by King. Maybe this time Donald Trump will present us with HIS vision of the city on a hill. Cruz could have simply refused to show up, like so many other Republicans. Cruz has built himself as a consistent, principled conservative.
Looking ahead to her own speech Thursday night, Ivanka Trump joked in the interview joked that her biggest hope is that she doesn’t trip on stage.
On Monday morning, Cruz defended his decision to not endorse Trump, telling the Texas delegation at a breakfast in Cleveland, “I am not in the habit of supporting someone who attacks my wife and attacks my father”.
Another side to this story is that the Trump camp seemed to have known that Cruz wasn’t going to endorse the billionaire real estate magnate.
Donald Trump’s oldest daughter says she is “proud” of her father’s wife for the speech she delivered at the Republican National Convention, despite controversy that the address in some places mirrored First Lady Michelle Obama’s words. As for an eventual endorsement, Trump. “I have to tell you, I think Heidi Cruz is a great person, I think it’s the best thing he’s got going and his kids, if you want to know the truth”.
The unequivocal appeal for a more inclusive tone is likely to give Trump’s fellow Republicans permission to embrace an issue resonating deeply with a younger generation of voters from all sides of the political spectrum. He won the primary contest.
Hillary Clinton is getting no more support from self-identified Democrats as Trump is getting among Republicans. Unlike Cruz, no one was thinking about 2020. If Daddy is voted into the White House, even her pleading eyes will not stop Trump from abandoning North Atlantic Treaty Organisation allies, building walls or deporting millions of Muslims.
The Texas senator explained that his comments about conscience and the Constitution should actually help the Republican party win in November. It’s fine to stand on principle, but he lost.

The two names that several delegates mentioned as potential challengers to Cruz were Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and former Gov. Rick Perry, though neither has given any indication he intends to run. In gauzy videos as well as speeches, they described him as a compassionate visionary with a connection to the common man and a drive to fix problems and finish projects. He said he had cleared his speech with Trump’s campaign “hours” before he took the stage.
