The centerpiece of the speech was an extended riff at Cruz’s expense, settling scores for the Texas senator’s refusal to endorse Trump in a speech Wednesday night, which ended with him being booed off the stage. But I don’t want his endorsement.

Calling Cruz “dishonorable”, Trump said: “I don’t want his endorsement”. What difference does it make. “Ted, stay home, relax, enjoy yourself”.
“Folks, a lot of us are political people”, Trump said.
While the newly minted nominee said the GOP is behind him, his convention featured a noisy floor protest Monday by anti-Trump delegates over convention voting rules.

Still, Trump touted the four-day convention in Cleveland as being “peaceful” and that the party had come together in his name.
The convention aimed at unifying the Republican Party, but there was chaos when members of the #NeverTrump movement called for a roll call vote which would let them vote as they pleased rather than vote for Trump.
Trump, speaking the end of a week dedicated to unifying the party, once again revived the conspiracy theory published in the National Enquirer that linked Cruz’s father to John F. Kennedy assassin Lee Harvey Oswald – an accusation that has no evidence behind it.
“He’ll come and endorse over the next little while”.
“I don’t know his father – I met him once – I think he’s a lovely guy”, said Trump. “See, to me, that’s dishonorable”. Walker declined to criticize Cruz for not endorsing, saying that voters will have the ultimate say on Cruz. Because when you go up to speak, you have to give your speech.
“If you’re a great believer in the Constitution, you have no choice”, he said, promising to nominate someone with views as close to the late Justice Antonin Scalia as possible.
But Trump said that Cruz’s camp started it with an ad that ran in Utah showing racy photos of his wife, Melania Trump.

“His father”, Trump began. “All I did is point out the fact that on the cover of the National Enquirer, there’s a picture of him and insane Lee Harvey Oswald having breakfast”. They got O.J. [Simpson], they got [former Senator John] Edwards, they got this.
