Comic-Con 2016: Marvel Debuts Trailers For ‘Luke Cage’ & ‘Iron Fist’
Luke Cage premieres globally on September 30 at 12:01am PT. The series is executive produced by Douglas Petrie and Marco Ramierz, starring Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock / Daredevil, Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, and Finn Jones as Danny Rand / Iron Fist. Though this is only a teaser and does not feature any footage from the actual series, it already has us pumped up.

Ranked one of the best comic-cons, the San Diego Comic-Con got a wonderful start when Marvel and Netflix chose to release the teaser trailers for their three upcoming shows, which are also fan favourites. It also served as the foundational show that launched a fleet of new superhero titles such as “Jessica Jones”, “Luke Cage”, “Iron Fist” and, recently, “The Punisher”. Although 2017 is not that far off, it may seem like forever as fans will still have to get through Luke Cage and Iron Fist before they finally get the chance to see The Defenders in action. But with the mysticism involved with the character, more origin background might be necessary to tell his story and establish his eventual involvement with the other Marvel heroes in Harlem and Hell’s Kitchen.
Marvel also posted the first trailer for Iron Fist, the studio’s fourth Netflix series.
After Daredevil and Jessica Jones, it looks like Luke Cage will be the next hit series for Marvel. The constant use of ninjas on Daredevil proved to be the sticking point which made the second season come unglued, so it’s a bit of a worry if they’re returning here. This year, the focus was squarely on the generally pretty great Netflix shows that the comic-book behemoth continues to produce.
And the gangster rap feeling of the teaser is definitely in the series itself, according to Coker.

The announcement comes amidst a flurry of activity from Netflix, who have invested heavily in their connections to the Marvel Universe.
