“It’s absolutely worth the wait”, executive producer Robert Kirkman promised of the hotly-anticipated episode, directed by fellow exec producer Greg Nicotero. At the end of last season, Negan infamously assassinated a character off screen.

The panel kicked off Friday with actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan menacingly stalking behind several cast members with his villainous character Negan’s barbed-wire bat.

“There might be some interesting non-human characters as well”, added Gale Anne Hurd, who is clearly referring to Shiva, who made her first appearance – along with her owner Ezekiel (Khary Payton) – in the season 7 trailer, which you can watch below. They each remained tight-lipped on who was on the other side of Lucille, the nickname of Negan’s bat. Along with Morgan, TWD stars Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Lauren Cohan, Steven Yeun, Danai Gurira, Chandler Riggs, Sonequa Martin-Green, Michael Cudlitz, Josh McDermitt, Ross Marquand, and Christian Serratos were onstage.

Next, we can offer fans a look at scenes from fall installments, as the network has also unveiled the first extended Walking Dead Season 7 preview. “The Walking Dead” executive producer Scott M. Gimple noted he was younger and svelter than his comic book counterpart. It’s basically just this recent batch of character posters in motion, and most likely won’t feature in the season 7 premiere in any way – but, we’re bound to get some actual footage from the show during the panel later on.
