Jeremy Corbyn is ‘stirring’ things says Angela Eagle

He has denied an extraordinary allegation that he planned to contact the father of a Labour MP who had criticised him to put pressure on the son to shut up.

Bristol West MP Thangam Debbonaire is thought to have nominated Angela Eagle for leader, but will switch her allegiance to Mr Smith, having already written of her dissatisfaction with Mr Corbyn’s reign.

In his article, McGinn said he was on a parliamentary trip to Washington in May when he learned that Corbyn was annoyed about an interview he had given in which he discussed the party’s disconnect with working-class communities.

“It transpired that Jeremy, in deliberations about how to respond to my interview, had said that he meant to ring my father to discuss it with him and ask him to speak to me about it”, Mr McGinn said.

In his own words, Mr Corbyn has asked supporters to livestream the event to social media where possible “as the media can not be trusted to report it”.

Mr Smith stressed his commitment to the NHS this week, saying: “It is a gross exaggeration and extrapolation of one comment in a press release about a report commissioned by Pfizer before I worked there, at a period in which the last Labour government was using the word choice to describe getting private providers to do hip and knee and cataract operations”. “We know a lot of people came through our Saving Labour website”, the spokesman said.

“I am interested that he refers to the situation of some workers who might have some job insecurity and potentially unscrupulous bosses”, she told Mr Corbyn.

“Jeremy is a voice for change both inside the Labour Party and in the country as a whole, and it’s wonderful to see how people have responded to him”.

Yesterday, 44 female Labour MPs wrote to Mr Corbyn, calling for him to do more to combat abuse and threats made against women within the party.

This morning, Mr Corbyn said to Sky News: “I don’t do any abuse”. It’s all very well to condemn it but there’s a permissive environment.

“I am very surprised and actually very disappointed they should say that”.

Labour now has more than 1,000 members on the Island, making it the Island’s largest political party.

“It is a good thing that people come together and want to debate and be active in politics in our society, isn’t that good for democracy?”

Mr Smith said he would have Mr Jones sit in a shadow cabinet with metropolitan English leaders and the Scottish Labour leader.

Members and MPs are being set against each other in a further move that underlines why the leader must be ousted, Harriet Harman warned. Women in Labour have found themselves subject to very bad misogynistic abuse, some of our Jewish MPs have been subject to anti-Semitic abuse, some of our Asian MPs have been subject to abuse. “Some of our Jewish MPs have been subject to anti-Semitic abuse and some of our Asian MPs have been subjected to abuse”.

“Jeremy Corbyn should take more responsibility for what’s going on we didn’t have this sort of abuse, intolerance, misogyny and anti semitism before Jeremy became leader”, Smith said. “So something has gone badly wrong under his watch”.

Labour now has more than 500,000 full members and the 183,541 people who became registered supporters over just two days this week is nearly more than both the Tory and Lib Dem membership combined.
