Jets’ Antonio Allen out for season with injury

The hits just keep on coming for the Jets’ secondary – and not the good kind.

Milliner injured a tendon in his right wrist Thursday and will undergo surgery.

The team announced the injuries Friday morning after both players were hurt during training camp practice Thursday.

According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, the Jets fear Allen suffered a torn Achilles during practice.

The Jets placed Allen on the waived/injured list and he could be added to their injured reserve if he clears waives.

“Some guys just bite the injury bug”, Bowles said before highlighting Milliner’s “mental toughness”. He did stay relatively healthy that season, though, and played in 13 games, pulling down three interceptions.

With the roster space, the Jets signed cornerback Keon Lyn, who most recently signed with the Jacksonville Sharks of the Arena League. Richardson, who was on the practice squad last year, could state his case to make the team this preseason. It’s a tough break for Allen, who had a rough go last year while being moved from safety to cornerback and back to safety. He has blocked two punts in his career with the Jets and returned a pick six for a touchdown against hated rivals, the Patriots. Lyn originally signed as an undrafted free agent with the Indianapolis Colts following the 2014 draft. “He was having a good camp”.
