The Reds are on the verge of signing Georginio Wijnaldum, but would his arrival push an established Anfield regular to the sidelines?
The Sun understands that Klopp remains a keen admirer of the 20-year-old playmaker, who scored five goals and assisted six more in the league last season.
“I’ve still got something left, for sure, but obviously it’s probably not the time for me to push for the next three or four years to get a place in goal”.
Georginio Wijnaldum is set to be pulled out of Newcastle United’s friendly against Doncaster Rovers – as a £25million move to Liverpool edges closer.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp explains why he chose to go after each of the Reds summer signings.
Klopp has already signed goalkeeper Loris Karius, centre-back Joel Matip, forward Sadio Mane and midfielder Marko Grujic this summer.
Jurgen Klopp has been offering his thoughts on our latest signing, Gini Wijnaldum.
He passed a medical at the club’s Melwood training ground earlier today, and will now jet to the United States of America to link-up with his new team-mates on their pre-season tour. “I think he can be a great player for us”.
