Walker endorses Trump at the Republican National Convention

Five small words from Donald Trump’s 75-minute acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention shot out, leaving Hillary Clinton “shocked”.

Clinton also poked at the Republican Party’s lack of unity, highlighted by a speech in which Texas Sen. “I think that looking at his children and how great they all are and how much they all love their father tells you a lot about the man as a parent”, Kiernan said.

When Trump was asked about child care late past year by a member of the women’s policy organization Make It Work, he mocked the questioner: “It’s a big subject, darling”, he said.

But the win had come at the cost of a seriously divided Republican Party, where many prominent figures of the party, including two previous Republican presidents and two previous Republican presidential nominees refused to attend his crowning party. Trump predicted Cruz would never mount a serious campaign for president and said that if he does, “maybe I’ll start a super PAC” to attack him.

“Nobody knows the system better than me, which is why I alone can fix it. I have seen firsthand how the system is rigged against our citizens, just like it was rigged against Bernie Sanders – he never had a chance”, Trump said.

The speech was widely considered the most important of Trump’s campaign and career. Koerner said she was still deciding whether to support Trump, while another delegate, Darl Eaton of Eueless, estimated “95 percent or more” of the delegation was on the same page.

Trump “humbly and gratefully” endorsed the Republican mantle before 2,000 raucous party activists in Cleveland, in a strikingly populist speech that offered a dark view of today’s America. He will also criticise her willingness to bring in thousands of refugees from the Syrian civil war. This is the legacy of Hillary Clinton: “death, destruction, terrorism and weakness”, Mr Trump said.

Party conventions are partly meant to introduce the candidate to the country, and nominees tend to get a boost in opinion polls afterward.

His speech was a survey of our troubling and risky times; things were bad already, he said, and on their way to getting worse.

“These sites are also incredible melting pots, gathering people from all walks of life and uniting them to work towards a single mission”, she said.

Trump decried recent police shootings, deaths committed by undocumented immigrants, terrorist attacks and the rise of the Islamic State in his speech at the GOP convention Thursday night – a speech that was fairly reminiscent of the stump speeches he gave while on the campaign trail.

“You know, he’ll come and endorse over the next little awhile”.

In a direct appeal to Americans shaken by a summer of violence at home and around the world, Mr Trump promised that if he takes office in January, “safety will be restored”.

“We must immediately suspend immigration from any nation that has been compromised by terrorism until such time as proven vetting mechanisms have been put in place”. All those positions go against prevailing Republican beliefs.

Jeers erupted from Trump supporters in the crowd, and Cruz’s wife, Heidi, was escorted out by security amid the shouting.
