Trump’s Thursday night speech dwelt heavily on law and order, as he pledged to champion the American police, to halt a surge in murders in American cities, and to enforce America’s immigration laws.

“Every action I take, I will ask myself: does this make life better for young Americans in Baltimore, Chicago, Detroit, Ferguson who have as much of a right to live out their dreams as any other child America?”

By pledging to protect police, Garza said Trump was actually promoting police terrorism against black people.

In a statement yesterday, Curtatone praised the department for its community policing and said a banner at police headquarters honoring slain officers showed the city’s moral support to police, but said “Black Lives Matter” will stay over the entrance to City Hall.

“The terrifying vision that Donald J. Trump is putting forward casts him alongside some of the worst fascists in history”, Black Lives Matter co-founder Alicia Garza said in a statement. Both incidents are under review. I’ve made very clear to our officers that we should be thankful for-and reinforce-what we have here in Somerville: a safer community thanks to the highest quality policing by a force dedicated to community policing, de-escalation, proper use of force, and anti-bias awareness. “Beginning on January 20, 2017, safety will be restored”, Mr. Trump said, referring to the date of the presidential inauguration.

Trump, however, has totally erased an important component of the racial tension that exists in America, and will certainly still plague the nation when the next Commander-in-Chief takes office. Stating that he believed that the comedian is innocent, he said: “He did so many positive things leading up to one thing, which he was convicted of being innocent for, by the way”.

“His doublespeak belies his true nature: a charlatan who will embolden racists and destroy communities of color”, added Cullors. And another surprise was the large number of White people participating.
