IPhone 7 Will Come With 3GB RAM, Lightning-To-3.5mm Dongle
Over the last few months, we’ve heard a variety of theories about how Apple plans to handle the dispensing of the 3.5mm headphone jack for the iPhone 7.

Stereo sound could also be on the table, as well as a redesigned Home button that uses motors to “simulate a click”, meaning the button will last for longer.
As for the iPhone 7 Plus, we can expect much of the same, but with a dual-lens camera and 3GB of RAM.
Apple Insider’s Roger Fingas confirmed on Monday that the Cupertino giant is all set to unveil three versions of the iPhone 7 in early September.
Because the headphone jack is still the most universal audio plug, the iPhone maker will reportedly ship its new smartphones with a Lightning to 3.5mm dongle, BGR reported citing a research note from Deutsche Bank. There are some reasons why this report of the Deutsche Bank should be viewed with some suspicion. According to the report, the German bank is in possession of new information about the iPhone since it reportedly made supply chain checks. However, the research note does not reveal what “color” is the new iPhone.

Secondly, the research note claims that Apple is including a Lightning-to-3.5mm dongle, but that seems a somewhat odd decision. It is like Apple is admitting that the market would not be ready to give up the analog headphones.
The dongle would have to contain a Digital to Analog Converter (DAC) in order to work with existing headphones. Unless Apple is able to make that significantly smaller than existing ones, it would make for a pretty clunky adapter.

Apple will have to make an adapter available for sale, for sure: there are plenty of people with expensive headphones they’ll want to continue to use.
