Trump pledges law and order crackdown
“Hillary Clinton’s legacy does not have to be America’s legacy”, Trump will say. “It’s a powerful combination”, Steel said. “Nobody knows the system better than me, which is why I alone can fix it”, he said. “That leader is Donald Trump”.

Basking in the glow of victory, Trump dismissed Cruz’s opposition in his remarks to volunteers and said he wouldn’t accept the Texan’s endorsement in any event. “But boy, he has done some job working with all the folks from law enforcement”.
“I have seen him fight for his family, I have seen him fight for his employees, I have seen him fight for his company, and I am seeing him fight for our country”. “The irresponsible rhetoric of our president, who has used the pulpit of the presidency to divide us by race and color, has made America a more unsafe environment for everyone”.
The moment resembled so many that have punctuated Trump’s unlikely candidacy for president: relitigating past skirmishes at a time when his campaign could be taking a victory lap, this time over a fairly well-received nomination acceptance speech that helped salvage a rocky convention. Chances are that Cruz would have swallowed Lyin’ Ted.
Trump painted a dire state of affairs in the United States and the world – instability overseas and crumbling infrastructure at home – and blamed those problems on President Barack Obama and his former secretary of state, presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. These are people who work hard but no longer have a voice. “He has to build and broaden his base”.
Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort lashed out at Cruz for not publically endorsing the GOP presidential candidate as well as refusing to say his name during his RNC speech Wednesday night inside Quicken Loans Arena.
A number of delegates said they appreciated how Trump steered clear of the kinds of attacks on fellow Republicans that characterized his primary campaign. Trump was introduced by his oldest daughter, Ivanka, who called her father “the people’s champion”.
Speaking at a Texas delegation breakfast on Thursday, a party activist reminded Cruz he signed a pledge to back the GOP presidential nominee, The New York Post reports. The full schedule can be found here.
“I don’t want his endorsement”, he added.
All the major news channels have carried the convention throughout the week.
Are we focusing on the right Trump? .
He pledged that next week’s Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, will offer a more positive vision. “Not only will you be able to watch gavel-to-gavel coverage of the conventions wherever you are, but for the first time, we’ll live stream the conventions in 360 degrees, so you’ll feel what it’s like to be in the center of the action”.

There were also notable different talking points from speeches made by previously nominated Republican candidates, including protecting the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) community and little mention of his faith and religious beliefs.
