Tim Kaine: Hillary Clinton’s VP pick
Miller was likely referring to Kaine’s acceptance of more than $160,000 in gifts during his time as governor, benefiting from Virginia’s loose laws related to political gift giving. It’s also the final puzzle piece for the general election, pitting Ms. Clinton and Sen.

Their opponent, Donald Trump, texted supporters several hours after the anouncement, “Tim Kaine is Hillary’s VP pick”.
As soon as Hillary Clinton announced her VP pick Friday night, the internet made a decision to have some pun with it.
“While Senator Kaine has been open about his personal reservations abut abortion, he’s maintained a 100% pro-choice voting record in the US Senate”, the group said in a statement.

Ms. Clinton called Sen. Kaine also tweeted his response, stating that he is honoured to her running mate.
It’s unclear whether the selection of Kaine will appeal to progressives from places like OR, which is expected to favor Bernie Sanders on the Democratic convention floor in Philadelphia next week after the Vermont senator defeated Clinton in Oregon’s May 17 primary.
Campaign chair John Podesta started the process after Clinton’s convincing victory over Democratic rival Bernie Sanders in April’s New York primary, dropping off binders of information with Clinton at her home in Chappaqua, New York. Tim Kaine was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2012. The avid outdoorsman votes early, then goes hiking in the woods with friends and family for a few hours of calm away from the nervous last-minute.
As Republicans continue to work through the process of uniting around their presidential nominee Donald Trump, Tennessee’s delegates at the Republican National Convention have already united around their disdain for presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
Top Republicans were quick to criticize Clinton’s choice. “Slow down, people. You have at least 109 more days to make them”, wrote Twitter user Debsplaining.
The pick comes as the Clinton campaign tries to paint newly anointed Republican nominee Donald Trump as divisive and unsafe, a theme they hit hard coming out of the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.

Clinton is calculating that Kaine, a Virginia senator and former governor who comes from a working-class background, will help her beat Trump by drawing in independent and moderate voters.
According to a Gallup poll released earlier this month, Trump and Clinton are now among the worst-rated presidential candidates of the last 70 years.
But liberals are dismayed that he has been chosen – they object to his advocacy for an Asian free-trade pact. Clinton was also drawn to Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, the former Iowa governor who remained in the running until the end. The two were scheduled to make their first appearance together as a ticket Saturday at a rally in Miami. That credo led him to volunteer as a missionary in Honduras, where he learned Spanish, and pursue a career as a civil rights lawyer before winning the Richmond, Va. mayoralty.
He’s a father. Kaine has three children with his wife Anne – Nat, Woody and Annella.
Sen. Kaine got some practice challenging Mr. Trump’s message when he campaigned with Clinton last week in northern Virginia, where he spoke briefly in Spanish and offered a strident assault on Mr. Trump’s White House credentials.

“Do you want a “you’re fired” president or a “you’re hired” president?” Kaine asked in Annandale, Va., as Ms. Clinton nodded.
