Rajinikanth’s Kabali breaking box-office records from day one
Super Star Rajinikanth’s Kabali may have been released to underwhelming reviews yesterday, but the opening day collections are earth shattering to say the least.

Superstar Rajinikanth-starrer Tamil action drama Kabali is off to a flyer in North America. The movie has taken the box-office by storm in over 4000 screens released all over. As per the reports coming, Kabali 1st day collection will be in the range of 38 to 40 crores.
The movie registered 100% occupancy in Tamil Nadu. However on the first day the movie had been watched by thousands of people in India and US.
If Telugu fans gave this much welcome, imagine the hysteria Tamil Nadu, where the film has reportedly grossed almost 20.5 crore, overtaking the previous all-time highest record of 15.5 crores set by Thala Ajith’s Vedalam, and the 5 crore variation speaks volumes about Kabali’s sensation in Tamil Nadu.
In Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the Telugu dubbed version also got a good start.
Not only in South India, Kabali fever was high in North India as well. Although it failed to beat Shah Rukh Khan’s Happy New Year’s opening day figures or for the matter, Baahubali’s opening day figures of almost Rs 50 crores, it still managed to rake in some really impressive figures!
# Highest opening day collection for any Indian film in US and Canada, by collecting almost Rs 13.5 crores. The film released across 400 screens in U.S. and Canada.
