Father to commemorate fifth anniversary of Amy Winehouse’s death with charity concert
Her life was a turbulent one: highs of musical success, critical acclaim and more awards than she could ever squeeze on her mantelpiece were punctuated by lows of drink and drug abuse.

It was previously claimed that Amy told her close friends she wouldn’t live past the age of 27.
Her tumultuous relationship with Blake Fielder-Civil and struggles with drugs and alcohol became just as well-known as her musical exploits, and on July 23, 2011, the world was rocked by the news that the enormously talented singer had died of alcohol poisoning. “I’m a natural singer, but I’m quite shy, really”, she said in her final interview. “I love you baby girl, lioness #RIP (sic)”.
Amy Winehouse has been remembered across social media by fans on the fifth anniversary of her death.
“Everyone looks at her and thinks of the frightful things that happened to her. I want people to focus on the fact she had a wonderful life”.
Amy’s bestfriend, Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace also shared a message on Twitter for her late-bestfriend as she expressed how much she missed the singer.
Speaking after the film won the prestigious prize, he said: “It’s gratifying to know that people still love Amy, and they love her music, and they love her as a person”.
The star’s father Mitch Winehouse will mark her passing with a concert in London to raise money for her foundation.

Mitch claimed the production honed in on the negatives of Amy’s life, missing out her clothes designing ventures and endless charity work.
