Moto X Play pre-orders open, stock expected August 25

The smartphone is an upgrade to the model of the Moto G that was released by Motorola previous year. In general performance is good and the phone is capable of handling everyday tasks well. That joins 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, and Global Positioning System – no NFC for smartphone wallet aficionados, though. Motorola actually claims it’ll be a top three smartphone camera. Photos tend to be accurate and sharp, especially in daylight where they suffer from little noise.

It’s obviously a little early to declare whether you should bet your bucks on Moto’s latest mid-range killer, however, by the looks of it, it surely seems to be a pretty interesting device.

Moto G has definitely started feeling a little more on the premium side thanks to the eye catching looks which are quite different as compared to that of its predecessor.

The battery is now 2,470 mAh, which Motorola says should last 24 hours on mixed usage. It has a 2470mAh battery and has a long battery life depending on how it’s used. The device is water-resistant and can be submerged in up to a metre of water for 30 minutes with no ill effects. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protects the entire display screen using its atomic configuration to make the glass more durable offering retained strength after use, high resistance to scratch and sharp contact damage, and superior surface quality. You’ve got the same metal frame and curved back making the device very comfortable to hold, and the lines are clean and inoffensive. The special price is reportedly available until the end of this month. It was recently dropped in price to just $299, but even at that great low price, it’s still a phone users shouldn’t buy right now and below we’ll explain why. The new phone is called the Moto G.

The Moto G 2015, which has been confirmed by Motorola to soon be released in the United States through Virgin Mobile and U.S. Cellular, is a mid-level handset with impressive specifications. If a flagship is literally the standard-bearer, then it’s worth remembering that the Moto G is the Motorola phone that most people are going to use – it’s the phone that’s going to define Motorola.

So if you’re looking for a fun phone, that is also well rounded, but you don’t have a lot of money to spend, you can’t go wrong with the Moto G. All in all, a great budget phone just got even better.
