Trump sharpens attack on Clinton, vows law and order if elected
They think that what happened was that Ted Cruz hijacked the convention and that nobody heard what Mike Pence said, and they’re hoping nobody heard what Pence said because Pence was great. He said he wasn’t eager to come to a convention and support Trump when Trump had not taken back anything said about his family, but that he was obliged to speak.

Libby Wuller, who recently attended a party hosted by RightNOW Women’s PAC, which works to get Republican women into office, said in an interview before Thursday night’s speech that although she is no fan of Donald Trump and his rhetoric about women, she is impressed with Ivanka. If you believe, as the media often reports, that Cruz is the darling of the Texas Republican orbit, then what he arrived to this morning was jarring.
Though Cruz has always been out of favor with the Republican elite, Wednesday night may have cost him valuable credibility with voters and organizers, said Larry Sabato, director of the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics. “I’m not a fan”.
On Thursday evening, delegates in the convention hall were livid Cruz that exhorted the room to vote its “conscience” in November. Ted Cruz’s address at at last night’s convention ceremonies as self-serving-and jabbed at the Tea Party darling’s history of hostility toward the Empire State.
For what it’s worth, Patrick spokesman Allen Blakemore told the website his boss is “not interested” in pursuing a Senate run.
“You have nominated a man for president who never quits”, Pence said.
The more cautious strategy would have been to endorse Trump as some others have done this week, because if Trump loses by a small margin, Cruz could find himself with even fewer friends in the party than he has now, as many Republicans would no doubt argue that his personal petulance and anger toward Trump contributed to a narrow loss. I will tell the truth, I will not malign, I will not insult, I will not attack, I will tell the truth.
“I addressed the convention because Donald Trump asked me to”.
Mr Cruz finished second to Mr Trump in the delegate count during the campaign. “You know, Hillary Clinton wants a better title and I would too if I was already America’s secretary of the status quo”.
In the primaries, Republican candidates had pledged to back the eventual nominee. When Cruz finished his speech without endorsing Trump, a lusty cacophony of boos chased him from the stage.
Rep. Robert Pittenger, R-Charlotte, said Cruz needs to be a team player.
And though Trump has secured the nomination – awaiting only his formal acceptance tonight – it’s not as if Cruz’s misgivings about the candidate have been absent from the convention. “I think you’ll see a little bit of theatrics”.
She spent much of the speech detailing Mr Trump’s career as a businessman and real estate mogul.
The congressman suggested that Cruz lacked this sense of esprit de corps, and linked it to Cruz’s famous dig at Trump’s “New York values” on an Iowa debate stage months ago.

The first-term senator emphasized that he has no plans to campaign against Trump this fall. They agreed, that is, to allow what Trump’s people are now treating as a calamity.
