The Marine Mammal in South River (MMSC) wowed spectators in Old Bridge, New Jersey, for almost 24 hours and it was for the first time that the dolphin was caught on video. Chopper 4 from NBC New York flew over the river and captured the dolphin appearing above the waterway near an overpass.

A dolphin that was stranded in a New Jersey river died Saturday.
On Thursday workers from the Raritan Riverkeeper organization went into the water with a Baykeeper boat and tried to gently push and guide the dolphin down the river but were unable to do so.
“The dolphin definitely doesn’t belong in the river, which is mostly freshwater, and it’s an out-of-habitat situation”, Robert Schoelkopf, founding director of the Marine Mammal Stranding Center, said.
Environmental officials say the dolphin has been seen swimming in waters several miles inland by the Old Bridge-East Brunswick border for about three days now. “The location is so remote and unsafe that we can’t put any of our people in it. There are no banks on side of river, it just drops down and river is covered with broken concrete and metal bars”.
Schoelkopf added that the dolphin does not seem to be feeding and that it is a senior.

He has posed the video with an intention that authorities concerned would see the video and rescue the dolphin.
