California Fire Grows To 20000 Acres, Forces Hundreds From Homes
The Sheriff’s Department said in a brief statement that homicide detectives were responding at 7:20 p.m.to the death of a man who was found deceased in the 26700 block of Iron Canyon Road.

KTLA reported that a neighbor said the man had been found dead in a burned vehicle and that his home had burned down.
A fast-moving wildfire, which has so far burned 20,000 acres, has forced hundreds of people to flee their homes near Los Angeles. The fire began in the Newhall area of Santa Clarita on the shoulder of Interstate 5. Cal Fire and the U.S. Forest Service were also assisting in the firefight, according to NBC Los Angeles.
By Saturday evening there was good news: The winds had changed direction and firefighters have contained the blaze near the facility, the group said.
Thick smoke have rolled across Los Angeles and its suburbs, and falling ash was reported.
One structure has been destroyed and 100 commercial structures are threatened, the fire department said.
The so-called Sand Fire broke out shortly after 2 p.m. on Friday in the Sand Canyon area of suburban Santa Clarita, triggering mandatory evacuation orders.

Authorities expanded evacuation orders near a wildfire north of Los Angeles Saturday to include more than 1,000 more homes, after the blaze almost doubled Saturday.
More than 200 horses along with goats, rabbits and other animals also were removed from fire areas.
The South Coast Air Quality Management District said those areas were susceptible to direct smoke impact and unhealthy air quality, and recommended that people stay indoors and avoid using swamp coolers and wood-burning appliances. “I grabbed all the pictures of the kids, and then I took the paintings of my parents that had been done by a local artist”, Ellen Masten said.
