But there were no fashion mishaps Thursday night when Ivanka introduced her father to formally accept the Repuplican presidential nomination.

Her ensemble was “modern, feminine and attractive”, said Peter Marx, president of the Washington, D.C. -area luxury women’s fashion shop Saks Jandel. Her most detailed proposal was about the rights of women and mothers in the workplace. But his daughter says his construction sites are “true meritocracies”.
“My father is a very straight talker”, she told a crowd in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Still, she recognizes just how polarizing her father can be. She was the last of the four Trump children to speak, and was clearly the best of the bunch.
When Borger asked Ivanka Trump if her father would read her bedtime stories like a typical dad, Ivanka Trump explained that he was ‘different’.
‘I never questioned that my siblings and I were his top priority, ‘ she added.
But Ivanka, who has her own fashion label, is a businesswoman in her own right – and happened to be selling one nearly like it.

One has to feel quite a bit for Ivanka Trump.
Behind the scenes her impact is possibly more significant – serving as one of Trump’s key de facto advisers – telling her father to tone down the rhetoric and be more presidential, and along with the other Trump kids, played a role in her father’s choice of a running mate, including meeting with the contenders themselves behind closed doors.
While she wouldn’t divulge the specifics of her conversations with her father, she said she isn’t afraid of sharing her opinion with him.
On Thursday she spoke to women, independents and young people, who resonated particularly strongly with defeated Democratic presidential candidate, Bernie Sanders, and referred to crippling college debt.
And she noted his work ethic in the real estate community.
Much of Ivanka’s upbringing revolved around the Trump Organization – she recalls playing at her father’s knee during meetings – but she says he never pushed his children to go into real estate, and almost did the opposite.
She quickly became a go-to key surrogate for the campaign, widely seen as poised and polished – with the unique ability to smooth out some of her father’s rough edges, vouching for him in personal ways. Despite her success, Trump felt it necessary to comment on her body.
“I was probably 10 years old and I’d call collect to the Trump Organization”, Ivanka Trump recalled of her private school days at the Chapin School in New York City.
