Hit game Pokemon GO sets Apple App Store record
But Pokemon Go is one reason for investors’ optimism.

While the most popular augmented reality mobile game app, Pokemon Go continues to rule as the most sought after app to be downloaded in Apple’s App Store, there is another free app that is closing on Pokemon Go.
What makes this feat especially impressive is the fact that the game was only available in three countries at the time of its release – the United States, Australia, and New Zealand. To be clear, that’s about half of all mobile app revenue combined. Many expressed their frustration over the crash, after servers and Pokemon Train Club logins became unavailable.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know that Pokemon Go has been all the rage in the past few weeks. According to SensorTower, Pokemon GO took just 7 days to reach 10-million downloads total.
After all, it would only be rational to see a sky-high demand from the game’s country of origin.
Pokemon Go has already set a precedent as 53% of the in-app purchases are made of people who have paid nothing for mobile games in the six months prior. Apple declined to give an exact figure, but some estimate that over 4 million iPhone users have and use Pokemon Go on a daily basis.
A pack of 100 PokeCoins costs US99c in Apple’s app store, but the price can go up as much as $US99.99 for a pack of 14,500.

Apple confirmed all of this big news via Techcrunch, but you only needed to be following basic gaming news sites to get the idea that Pokemon Go is something special.
